Greetings to all!

When life offers one a change, one JUST has to take it! Take myself for instance, as I became complacent and taking for granted my dance training and practice, my family came upon an opportunity to allow us out of the harsh salt flat desert in which we had called home for over a decade. Yes, we uprooted ourselves and moved many, many miles away to a land foreign to us. It is green and abundant with water which equals gardening and grazing for our livestock. How could one pass upon that type of opportunity.

Don't get me wrong, this land is harsh in its own way. For instance, I am highly allergic to poison ivy... our land was covered in it. When we first got here, my husband & I chopped, cut and sawed the serious overgrowth which was years old. Unwittingly, we were in it. Well with primitive living quarters, one cannot just jump into the shower... 2 weeks is basically the duration of an allergic reaction. Since our move, I have been 2 weeks with & 2 weeks without an allergic reaction for almost a year.

SO instead of blogging about how well my training is going, how many dances have been choreographed & how much inspiration I find in the practice of Danse Orientale, I have been helping my family to live in a real house, to play and barbecue in a great yard & be more social. 2012 was dedicated to my family.

2013 is for me...

It is off to a slow start for my danse practice this year. I am focusing on things to improve our life in the near future such as a garden & livestock to keep us in fresh supplies and boundary fencing to protect us from predators. Don't worry though, my children haven't claimed my Ipod yet. I can still throw it into my pocket and become entranced with the variety of rhythms & melodies that flow from it. I figure 8 across the pasture to the pond or I arabic to the mailbox. There is still movement and creativity in my life, may there be movement and creativity in yours!

I hope Winter has allowed us all the much needed hibernation to revitalize our soul for the new year.
